Fees
As required by law, I will provide you with an estimate of all costs for assessment and investigation and treatment.
For Insured Patients
David Warwick charges reasonable and customary rates and matches the rates set by all the major insurance companies so there should be no shortfall. However, if you have private medical insurance, please contact your insurer before you book for the tests or treatment I have recommended to check whether this is covered by the terms of your policy.
Please note you are responsible for any fees not covered by your insurer.
For self-funding patients
Patients without insurance are welcome. The cost for self-funding patients will depend on the complexity. If a steroid injection or xray is required the hospital will set own additional fee. If surgery is required then we can provide a fixed rate which includes all costs (operation, hospital, anaesthesia, follow up, hand therapy).
| Self-funding fee | Price |
|---|---|
| New patient consultation | £250 |
| Follow-up consultation | £50 – £150 |
No other procedure, scan or injection prices are published — surgery is quoted as a bespoke fixed rate per case.
Quality Information
You can compare independent information about the quality of private treatment offered at the hospitals in which I work and other private healthcare providers from the Private Healthcare Information Network (PHIN) website: www.phin.org.uk.
Billing
The Hand Clinic uses the excellent billing agency Medserv UK, which provides the invoice and offers you the facility to pay by bank transfer, credit card, debit card or cheque.
Referral
In accordance with our professional regulations, we ask that all patients are generally referred by another medical professional (GP, Physiotherapist, Consultant, Chiropractor). It is appreciated that some patients do not have ready access to a referral in which case we will take self-referral.
